Cohere launches Tiny Aya open multilingual models supporting 70+ languages

Enterprise AI company Cohere released Tiny Aya, a family of open-weight multilingual models that support 70+ languages and run on laptops without internet. The base model has 3.35B parameters, with regional variants optimized for African, South Asian, and Asia-Pacific languages. Trained on a single cluster of 64 H100 GPUs, the models target offline translation and local-language applications in linguistically diverse countries like India. Cohere launched them at the India AI Impact Summit through its research arm Cohere Labs.
