Ricursive Intelligence raises $335M at $4B valuation to build AI chip design tools
Ricursive Intelligence, founded by former Google Brain and Anthropic researchers Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini, raised $300M Series A at $4B valuation just two months after a $35M seed. They created Google's Alpha Chip tool that could generate chip layouts in hours instead of a year.
Unlike other AI chip startups, Ricursive isn't building chips but building AI that designs them. Nvidia, AMD, and Intel are all target customers and Nvidia is an investor. The pair's careers have been in lockstep: they started, left, and joined companies on the same days.
