SpaceX and xAI enter Pentagon contest for voice-controlled autonomous drone swarms

SpaceX and its subsidiary xAI are competing in a secretive Pentagon contest to produce voice-controlled autonomous drone swarming technology. Musk has previously argued against making "new tools for killing people." The entry comes after the SpaceX-xAI merger was announced in early February. SpaceX is already a defense contractor, but AI-enabled weapons development is a different level of military involvement for Musk.
