Anthropic releases Claude Sonnet 4.6 with major coding and computer use upgrades
Anthropic launched Claude Sonnet 4.6, a full upgrade across coding, computer use, long-context reasoning, and agent planning. The model scores 60.4% on ARC-AGI-2 and sets new records on SWE-Bench and OS World. It ships with a 1M token context window in beta at the same $3/$15 per million token pricing as its predecessor.
Sonnet 4.6 is now the default model for free and Pro users on claude.ai and Claude Cowork. Developers with early access preferred it over Sonnet 4.5 by a wide margin, with many favoring it over the more expensive Opus 4.5. The release delivers near-flagship performance at mid-tier cost, a significant repricing event for enterprises running millions of daily API calls.
