RAM crunch from AI demand could kill products and entire companies, Phison CEO warns
Phison CEO Pua Khein-Seng warned that companies may need to cut product lines in H2 2026, and some will die outright if they can't secure enough RAM. AI data centers are consuming the vast majority of global memory supply, causing prices to triple, quadruple, or even sextuple.
The shortage is creating an unprecedented supply-demand imbalance as the AI buildout diverts components from consumer electronics. Even Nvidia may skip shipping certain products due to memory constraints.
