PwC builds AI agent that reasons over massive enterprise spreadsheets

PwC announced a "frontier AI agent" that can navigate and reason over enterprise-grade spreadsheets with millions of cells, charts, graphs, and cross-tab dependencies. The agent mimics how experienced practitioners work: scanning, searching, jumping across tabs, and integrating visual elements. PwC's global tech officer, formerly VP of AI at AWS, said traditional AI systems "just kind of shrug and give up" when they encounter complex spreadsheets. The tool targets the unglamorous but critical infrastructure of corporate operations.
