Altman warns "the world is not prepared" as OpenAI uses AI to accelerate its own research
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said AGI is "pretty close" and superintelligence "not that far off," revealing that internal models are speeding up development faster than expected. "It's going to be a faster takeoff than I originally thought and that is stressful and anxiety-inducing," he said at an Express Adda event in India.
Altman added that writing C++ by hand is "over" and that "big categories of jobs AI is just going to completely obsolete." OpenAI recently disclosed its Codex 5.3 coding model helped build itself during training.
