Johns Hopkins economist and veteran trader Steve Hanke told Business Insider he sides with Yann LeCun's view that LLMs are "a distraction, a dead end" on the path to human-level intelligence. He considers the current AI wave "overhyped and potentially dangerous."
Hanke previously warned that whether AI market exuberance is rational depends on whether "spectacular revenue forecasts hold water," advising investors to "buckle your seat belt."
