Google's VP of global startups says two once-hot AI startup models are running out of runway: thin LLM wrappers and model aggregators that route between APIs without proprietary tech.
Startups need "deep, wide moats" to survive, either horizontal differentiation or deep vertical specialization. Cursor and Harvey are examples of wrappers that built real moats. Those merely white-labeling GPT or Gemini won't last.
