Uber launches Autonomous Solutions to support third-party robotaxi partners
Uber created a new initiative called Autonomous Solutions, offering vehicle financing, fleet management tools, training data, and regulatory assistance to its AV partners including Wayve, WeRide, Nuro, and Waabi. The company will share data from its fleet of thousands of test vehicles driving in dozens of cities.
The program acknowledges that most AV developers lack Waymo's or Tesla's capital reserves. Uber is betting that providing infrastructure support will keep partners on its platform rather than building their own ride-hailing networks.
