ProducerAI joins Google Labs, powered by new Lyria 3 music model

Google acquired AI music platform ProducerAI, folding it under Google Labs and powering it with a preview of its Lyria 3 music generation model. The platform lets users collaborate with an AI agent to generate sounds, workshop lyrics, and create custom instruments. ProducerAI launched in July 2025 as a successor to Riffusion. Google Labs director Elias Roman said the tool's conversational agent approach distinguishes it from competitors that rely on prompt-and-generate workflows.
