UK Treasury enlists Blair thinktank and tech firms to advise on AI in public services
The UK Treasury convened executives from the Tony Blair Institute, IBM, Faculty AI (now Accenture), and other tech companies to advise on deploying AI across government. Chief Secretary James Murray called them "exactly who can help us create change across the public sector."
Campaign group Foxglove criticized the move as "inviting in foxes to consult on the future of the henhouse," warning about conflicts of interest when tech companies advise on buying the products they sell. The meeting followed the government's goal to make Britain the "fastest AI adoption country in the G7."
