Mirendil buys $100M+ of Google Cloud compute for self-improving AI
AI lab Mirendil signed a multi-year Google Cloud partnership worth upwards of $100 million, giving it TPUs, Nvidia GPUs, and managed training clusters. That is roughly half the seed funding the Anthropic-veteran-founded startup raised at a $1 billion valuation in late June.
Mirendil is pursuing recursive self-improvement, AI systems that iteratively improve themselves, with the goal of eventually replicating the work of an entire frontier lab. The deal captures two dynamics at once: cloud giants dangling infrastructure commitments at startups, and startups locking in compute before it runs out. Recursive Superintelligence and Ricursive Intelligence are chasing the same target.
